Elevating from the shackles
The shackles that think they hold me down
Judgmental society
My liberation starts now
You think you can keep me trapped
My mouth wired shut
You did for some years now
But now its time to speak up
No freedom til’ we’re equal
Ill scream out loud
Im an African American Lesbian woman
Im out and proud
You wanna judge me than your judging them
But by the judging so much
What does that say about you within
Everybody has insecurities
So many people are afraid of change
But you wanted change in slave days and holocaust ways
But since we’re gay
We don’t deserve the same?
I dont agree
So i decided to speak
Cause im tired of all this inequality
