FAMILY TREE

Oak, elm or cotton wood, hemlock, fir
Or pine. Everyone has a favorite. But
The Family Tree is his.

You plant all the others; nourish
Them as they grow. What they’ll be
When adult, you almost always know.

But when you take two people who
Are matrimony bound; they start a
Family Tree. That’s the nicest kind around.

Strong and healthy the branches grow. With
Nourishment of body and mind. Representing
The children of all ages, shapes, and kind.

Each child is unique, beautiful, sturdy, straight
And tall. Snuggly bound through generations.
Family trees are best of all.
