A poem to you and me.

Depression the in between

This is a letter meant to you from me. You are me and I am you, in a letter that might be. I am your best friend and you are mine. You can hide from others, but you certainly can’t from me. You need to realize I am you comrade, your most valuable relationship. Before you can work with others, you need to work with me. At the end of the day you are left with yourself, which is me. You need to love me and respect me. You need to care for me and not abandon me. I am the closest to you. I can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. In order for me to value you, you need to value yourself, which you do. I’ve been with you for twenty-two years, because I love you and you love me, which is you. I want to be your best friend, I want to be my own best friend. Success lies between you and I, and that in between is you. For when you stop catering to others, is when you start caring for you. For when you stop leaning on others, is when I get to know you and me. I love you because you are me and I am you.
