Songs in the Silence

Songs in the silence, in the vacuous air,
the muffling of the anxious day, a
a serenade of the heavenly harps,
an ode to the planets in their turning,
typanis speaking with feathered mallets
to the slumbering violets, the sleepy hills,
the yawning of the sunset sun, the
avenue to the still of the midnight calm
as the sun digs its way through the earth
‘til the song of the new day begins,

as the tender violins pave the way
for the inundation of the glorious sun,
the pastel colored clouds dressed in their
morning finery, the music floating astride
of the lethargic clouds in their place in the sky,

running to their gated entrances with
permission to enter requested,
then through the prominent doors,
into hidden chambers of silken marble,
singing to the rain, the mist, the snows, l
the spirits, the phantoms, the silent thunder,
marching in majesty in the silent kingdom
and playing on and on the most quiet song
and playing softer than the movement
of the clouds, so soft oh so soft,
oh heavenly song in the silence............
