Other's Gold

Other’s Gold

There it lies on the shelf all alone
With halos above and the earth below
Heaven is a place to call my own
As what I am a righteous fellow

Encased in a bright rose colored glass
Is someone else’s rightly treasure
To see what all that I can amass
I’ll make my life a life of pleasure

Out of the case by my greedy hands
The gold came to life as it hissed at me
As serpents do as in all the lands
Something strange I couldn’t foresee
I was bitten by gold, some other’s gold
So for the record let the truth be told
