Oh Glorious Curtain

Oh glorious curtain seated
in thy sacred place in the morning sky,
thy majestic opening to the new day,
pulling back to reveal the chameleon clouds
that change color with each of thy movements,
after the blackness that shrouded the night,
to the purple hue of the perforated clouds,
then to the bright yellow upon thy opening,

then sitting back and watching the sun
on its westward journey, a mission of duty,
shining a light upon all that is living,
all that it made to live and all to keep it alive,

oh glorious sun, the giver and keeper of life,
the embodiment of God the creator,
the divinity in the eyes of man,
the oldest engine that keeps on churning,
that stays fixed in its eternal location,
the proof that it couldn’t be man-made,
that no mind can be that intelligent,
something from a different sort of man,
maybe a spirit behind the creation of man.

Maybe that spirit is our God of supreme intelligence
and we are to be thankful for all he’s done for us
and be thankful for that glorious curtain that
pulls back each morning to reveal the sacred sun
that gives us life and keeps us alive
and all else that lives on this beautiful Earth.
