Man of Stone

Man of stone,
man of sadness,
man of scars
from one
traumatic moment,
a wrong committed,
a wrong unconfessed,
a plea for forgiveness,
an act of forgiving,
still undone as the
scar from yesteryear
still burns in his soul.

Man of stone,
still unforgiving,
still feeling the
hate in his heart,
the burden upon his soul,
the obstacle to overcome
to free him from his pain
and restore the love
that it took away.

The freedom within
his heart is the
pardoning power
to lift him up
and out of his pain.

Non-violent retribution

I got the idea to write this after viewing the film, "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood."
