The Fall of Man, by Hendrik Goltzius
Robert L. Martin

Love Touch

Love touch like soothing feathers and balm
nervous skies and rainbows and ensuing calm

a euphoria that steams out of new lovers
a private feeling to them and none others

a lifting of the spirits to the skies above
a flight to a new  paradise on the wings of love

the arrival at the gates to love’s sacred throne
a majestic march up to the doors of love’s home

a feeling inside that reveals love’s secret powers
a volcanic thrust mingled with a scent of flowers

a poem inside that speaks to the ears of the heart
a sonnet, a lullaby, a rumble, an electric spark

love’s secret language that new lovers understand
left alone together in their new wonderland

a place like no other place they’ve been before
finding new corridors to new places to explore

new rooms with a clearer light in the windows
getting closer to love’s eternal flame that grows

a brighter glowing that new lovers see and feel
a touch of affinity’s breath exhaled and revealed
a love touch, a new feeling like none before.
