Peasant family at the table, by Jozef Israëls

Home in the Spirit

For wanderers near and far away,
home still lives in his spirit today.
As the holidays begin to grow so near,
being home is in his heart so very dear.
Wanderers will always have a home,
his paradise of memories as his own.

Home is the foundation of his transient life,
whether or not he shares it with a wife.
He is still alone as the holidays arrive
as he thinks of home, his past to revive.
