Green and Greener

Shades of green run along the verdant,
touching the sky from an earthly slant.
Fields of corn and fields of barley
wake up and sing with morning’s reveille.

They flaunt their vibrant green attire
and the corn keeps growing high and higher.
The barley sways to the rhythm of the wind
like dancers dance and swimmers swim.
Summer’s setting is a vivid longing for the eyes
as the beauty of Mother Nature complies.

I wrote this poem for The Belt and Beyond
