Valley of the Yosemite, by Albert Bierstadt
Robert L. Martin

Cool and Refreshed

Cool and Refreshed

Black clouds for scorched meadows bound
Beautiful as they swarm the skies around
Their stored up moisture about to explode
A heroic poem versed for summer’s ode

To those in need they roam about the skies
Finding where to land with big mercy eyes
Mother Nature as she is, a sympathetic guest
A heroic rescue storming in from the west

At last! The drenching of sad parched fields
At last! Skies weeping and hearty yields
At last! Cool faces and contented smiles
At last! Out of the trap of nature’s wiles
Ah-h-h-h, what a relief
Cool and refreshed as I am
