Beauty’s Demons

Beautiful swart of the lower skies,
demons hidden in the clouds,
her fountains shooting high in the air,
swirling sky-scape in the nigh,
demonic galleries on display,
beauty adorned in ebon costumes,
flaunting her black onyx gemstones
fixed inside her shiny tiara,
flaunting her hair of slithering serpents,
pacing the floors of hell up in the high,
she moves down to scout Mother Earth
and look inside her throbbing caves.

Dipping down to scowl at the trees
she spits upon the hallowed ground
and her spout reaches down
to touch the ground.
She blows and empties out her lungs.
She strikes at night when all is asleep.
She is a nightmare too
in the waking hours.
She kicks down the feeble trees.
She smashes the paper houses.
She leaves a wrath of destruction
as all the earth is her playground.
She is beauty and she is a demon.
