...comforting crackling sound of the embers...

earth you walk on
under your feet
warm yet cold
a winter discontent
behold! disaffection turned
into so much happiness
you couldn’t help yourself
but feel like singing joy
with the songbirds roosting
an urge you could not resist
cold you needed to feel warm
radiant you are from all day’s events
enhance the moment start a fire pit
just do it no fuzz like you’ve done
many things many times before
feeling warm air soothing
slowly enveloping you
you look up the twilight sky
a reddish pink spreading
the sun once more kisses earth
a glowing fiery red horizon radiates
took a deep breath
centered your soul
your chakras aligned
breathed out... you are home
aura of love engulfs you
in your heart it dwells
you yearn to share this
beautiful happy moment
tenderly with someone you know
you wished were with you
near and yonder
under the bushes...
neath the canopies...
the songbirds
serenading you
soothing peaceful song
like the easing sound of crackling
wood embers in the fire pit you lit
a melody strains of the soul comforting
suddenly a voice familiar you heard
“hey!”
cool breeze of dusk air brushing along
more logs into fire pit you put for the night
smiles taken... eyes had spoken the words
that keep two souls burning a flame ever
