Solitary Mind

Observation

After peeling away the layers, over time,
It becomes clear what was, cannot be.
Peering through the telescope, closely,
Observe every opportunity, though distant.

As a lighthouse in a fog,
Its light becomes dim and losing sight,
Even every footprint on the beach,
Becomes lost with the high tides.

The surge of emotions that were there,
Were removed with a distant and disinterest.
For it was a leaf, tossed and turned,
In the wind, forever lost with no bad intentions.

I want to be the captain of my own ship,
Able to navigate without another’s guidance,
Until there is a calming of the seas,
To push forward until another port.

Finally reaching my destination, I’ll cast out on my own,
Want to buy a map and unroll it to see what unfolds,
To seek another place and cast my nets for,
A hopeful bounty, beauty in a treasure chest.

Holding onto my breath, dealing with life’s goals,
I’ll move on until then, continue to observe.
Going on towards the horizon, beyond the setting sun,
Live my life in observance, waiting for the sun to rise.
