Ripple Effect

On broken butterfly wing,
your crippled mind fluttered into my schoolroom. Failed. And died.
I couldn’t do a thing to stir its organs
of poor maimed sense to life again.
-Richard de Zoysa

A smile, a word, so softly shared,
A fleeting moment that showed you cared.
A seed of hope, in hearts it shows,
Where kindness leads, kindness grows.

One gentle hand to lift a fall,
Can spread a wave that touches all.
The echo travels through the air,
It finds its way, it lingers there.

In Indiana’s fields where tall corn sways,
A kind hello can brighten our days.
The warmth of Hoosier hearts will show,
That kindness plants and kindness sows.

So let it bloom, go out your way,
To brighten someone’s cloudy day.
For in this world, it’s still profound,
Kindness spreads, like ripples in the pond.

And when it’s time to rest your head,
Think of the joy your kindness spread.
For simple acts, like stars above,
Illuminates the world with love.

Mark

I pledge to be kind to as many people as I can, every single day that I can wake up and get out of the house.
