Harriet Slaughter

Harriet Slaughter is an actress, singer, dancer, arts administrator, poet and painter.  She holds a  BFA from the University of Texas, Austin, and a MFA from NYU.  She has appeared in numerous productions across America and Broadway including Inherit the Wind, King Lear, The King and I, Man of La Mancha and Fiddler on the Roof.  She was a senior executive for Town Hall, Actors’ Equity Association and the Broadway League in New York City. She served as a trustee on numerous entertainment industry pension and health funds. As former Co-President of the League of Professional Theatre Women, she co-produced the Women in Theatre CUNY TV series. She was honored by the New York Women’s Agenda with their 2011 Galaxy Award.

Her poetry has appeared in several anthologies and has been cited by Art Affair, Kentucky State Poetry and the 2012 Scroll Award from the Angels Without Wings Foundation. Her art work has appeared in juried art shows in New York City and Long Island.
