An Offering to My Wretched Muse

I would say, "You know who you are" but I'm pretty sure you don't...

I offered you my heart,
You turned and threw it in my face.
Can we please skip this part
Where you become a complete disgrace?
I’ve lost my respect for you,
Turned to ashes, crumbled to dust.
A complete 360 on my view
Of a man I used to trust.

My heart is being squeezed inside my chest
By your strong, invisible grip;
Continuously taunting, haunting, stealing rest,
Forcing me to scorn, mourn, slide and slip.
You’ve become this wretched muse
Occupying too much space in my brain
Yet I offer myself again and again for you to use
To reignite this burning, searing pain.

Out of it comes a form of art
Also, a sick, twisted peace.
There lies the tragic part:
That I see no way for these feelings to cease.
