On her face is a smile
That could go on for a while
Laughter, pure bliss
Ever glistening; an oceanic abyss
Staring out at the horizon
The sun never failing to be a risin’
The ocean lasting forever
A never-ending endeavor
But not everything can last
Things change fast
It was not meant to be
And she left to flee
Psychological torture
The sun-beaming scorcher
You would never know anything was wrong
She swam and moved along
She forced herself moving forward
In stride with the current; reaching shoreward
On the beach she ran
Stride and stride in the san’
There always was a plan
But that was than
That run was a struggle
Each breath and thought she had to juggle
It all used to seem so simple,
Her smile, each dimple
She ran on
And the bliss was slowly gone
Her energy burning out
Lack of feeling, a drought
Exhaustion creeping near
Her head filling with fear
Some things can last a lifetime,
But not this rhyme
The oceanic abyss,
Something she soon would miss
But something that will always be there tomorrow
Something to drown away the sorrows
No more will she mope
Now she has something to provide hope
