Good old Mrs Shirley
My dinner lady from years ago
Her dinners were so tasty
And she was really nice to know.
Everybody loved her
And still say she’s a ledge
Best school dinners ever
Kids even ate their veg.
She was very jolly
Got on well with all the staff
Kind and understanding
And really liked a laugh.
She worked her cotton sox off
And to me was the best
But Sadly Mrs Shirley
Has now been laid to rest.
I won’t forget this lovely lady
Her death has left me numb
Because I am very proud to say
Mrs Shirley was my mum.
