A SINGLE ROSE

Each morning when she wakes up,
She knows that there will be
A rose on her kitchen counter,
That you have picked for her.

She knows many wives get roses,
By the dozen, maybe more;
But those are only roses
Bought with money from a store.

Although she may not show it,
She’s as pleased as she can be;
For that single little rose
You grew, with love, for her.
