In the world outside the wolves run wild,
free to hunt and kill on Savage Isle
where God is God and wolves are wolves,
out to kill as the food chain moves.
Civilization is in the taming yet to be tamed,
and all the beasts become fair game,
and life is a world of running and hiding,
looking for food with fighters fighting.
Peace is a climb up to Gluten’s Peak
from the battle of the strong and of the weak,
where God is the guardian of the food chain
and yet the God of love through all the pain.
And mothers are clothed in protective armor
with thorns colored in pink and lavender
and perceptive eyes that look out into the wild
with thoughts on protecting her innocent child.
Mother’s gentle arms are so soft and slight
yet strong and able and ready to fight
as she opens them up to cradle her young
and sings a sweet lullaby to her little one.
“Sleep, sleep, sleep, my precious child.
Mother’s hear with you all the while
to fight off the wolves with all my might
and cradle you in my arms all day and night.
As you leave someday you can fight on your own;
but today you are safe until you’re fully grown.
So sleep, sleep, sleep my precious child.
Sleep, sleep, sleep.”
