Real Love

Passion boiling and running through the veins
Racing with the antelopes and purple rains

Burning up the words of romantic prose
With nothing spoken and none composed

A love story up in flames by the roaring fire
In a language of the groin to whom inspired

Savages run wild and intensify the flame
To the height of love and passion acclaimed

Real love’s motto, “Let nature run free.”
As love is taken over by freedom’s creed.

Then a holding onto love with metal clasps
Into the darkest of the nights to make it last

A freedom encased in armored vaults
A union with one of many faults

The need to escape and run away
Love’s too tight, a high price to pay

Is real love in the securing of the chains
Or in the freedom of the falling rains?
