Oceans Hovering

Oceans hover as far as one can see,
opening doors to the north without a key,
spreading about the fields of ripened corn
as a thick haze in the day from the early morn,

bringing in the air from the southern most lands
with no stirring up from nature’s invigorating fans
that offer refuge in the stifling, humid day
until Autumn returns and blows it all away.
