Morality at Risk

Morality at Risk

Human Nature knocks at my door
I do thee proclaim that pleasure’s in store
Damsels dancing to the song of lust
Morality’s swirling in a cloud of dust

Put down your scriptures and rise with me
Come outside, let your spirit run free
Profane voices keep running through my mind
Temptation’s so easy, leave your morals behind

Inhibition’s a dream too weak to keep inside
To open spaces, he says to let it ride
When Human Nature speaks, why not listen?
Why keep your spirit in a narrow prison?

But I, a true believer in abstinence
Repression today means tomorrow’s delight
Morality finds its way through discerning avenues
To breathe the air of infinite spaces
Where wisdom and virtue roam together
