Love in Transit

Love in Transit

New love, what am I to do?
My mounted pride, how much to undo?
Do you leave when I have nothing?
My broken spirit among its offering

Together we recite love’s eternal poem
From forsaken isles, they sent me home
For ‘tis there that I gathered up my pride
In lonely fields I trod, my pace astride

But I am a man among those in need
To lose myself to where love will lead
Into dark caves or heaven’s bright domain
My spirit to ride, my fate to proclaim
Love is reciprocal, love is everlasting
