La Valse

La Valse

The invitation arrived
In the mail to our suite said
Make yourself available
With your eager dancing feet
Come to the ball and
Make yourselves merry
Dance ‘til the dawn and
Drink up the sherry

Out to the carriage we ran outside
Onto the dance we said give us a ride
To the grand noble ballroom
‘Tis a palace in the sky
A sight to behold a sighting on nigh

We strode through the door
We were there just in time
The orchestra poised
To make music sublime
One two three, two two three
Three two three, one
Waltzing so fast my love, together we spun

The night passed too quickly
My feet couldn’t stop
The rhythm stayed with me
And over the top
Locked into ecstasy
Our night rang of joy
The waltz sent us reeling
Our spirits to deploy
Took us up toward heaven
Our night to remember
