Helium Man

Sky bound poets with lofted feet
To the skies above in Paramount Seat

Upward floating to the highest seas
Through metal clouds and liquid breeze

Air of silence in ships in a higher realm
Manned by celestial pilots at the helm

Six million fathoms thru’ time and space
A quiet drifting in a timeless race

Feet off the ground ne’er to come back
Helium in the heart along skyward track

Man of dreams and feet of air
A maiden voyage in heaven’s glare

Looking down at rooted homes
At man made of flesh and earthly bones

At reality with feet on solid ground
At life with living so tightly bound

At poetry wrapped up in proper words
With no air to breathe in iron girds

To the skies ye mighty poets go
Shed thy wrap and ride in raptured glow
