...comfortable in your own skin...
Looking ahead
Sitting on your front porch
you did not look back... musing
you crossed many rivers recalling
comfortably on your adirondack
You have walked the open swaying
fields of grass lush meadows
golden fields even along rivers
where yellow and white butterflies zigzagging up and down up down
flitting around you as you stroll
Across both twilight horizons
you saw your long shadows
at times double even triple
at times dark at times a trace
a lifetime scene day in day out
pulled in to your dreams your soul
You had touched the grass
cool warm feeling under the sun
engulfed you... had comforted you
...many times
also many times it felt burning
But you carry on
the coming and going
yo-yo daily life you face
head scratching moments
...they were... grin you accept
you wore seasonal clothes
easy and delightful exciting
mindful at all times aware you are
a happy demeanor you have always
with comfort and confidence
you simply look ahead not back
