A Couple of Good Burps
On the boardwalk sat down for chips and fish
A dark amber ale onion rings calamari dish
Darker streaks of gold now a spreader
From the red sun that has gone under
Had a good day summer sun
Burped twice subdued ones
Nowhere else to go
Nothing else to do
Like a homeless hermit crab
Walked a hard walk home no cab
Back on the porch not a step lost
The day winding down done almost
Aching flat down squarely my back
On the faithful waiting blue Adirondack
Reaching for the full moon grace
A silver disk there its smiley face
Through a naked tree branches a thin
Vanilla cookie glimmers a sweet sheen
All that’s left on a clear night dark bluish silk sky?
Of a glorious day on the beach now a sigh?
Of the spirit realm of world sun worshipper?
Glanced the sphinx moon it seemed to purr
