Daffodil and Daisy

DECK’D in a many gems of morn,
   A daffodil without a peer,
I reared my head, and treat with scorn
   A one-pearl-gifted daisy near.

That very hour, lo! wind-a-rock’d
   Was I left gemless evermore;
Nay, made to envy what I’d mocked,
   That one sweet pearl the daisy wore.
