I am not long for this place,
I am short,
Of patience,
Of temper with fools,
Of money,
Of stature in a world where the rich hold the power.
I am not long for this place,

Of energy,
Of time with loved ones,
Of education,
Of knowledge how to make things better for my children.
I am not long for this place,

Of achievement,
Of change I have effected,
Of success,
Of having made my mark on the world for the better.
I am not long for this place
