I don’t always shine
But when I do, it’s never mine
Some people wander around like chickens with their heads cut off
And their lives not meaning much
All we need to do is reflect the light like it’s too bright
You’re never too much
No, not enough of you is such
But always enough to make me dance and sing
Every day I’m on my knees
Humbling myself before the king
Laying down my weapons
And showing my affection
I don’t even feel small
I feel built and tall
Like the great wall
But how could I ever measure up to you
So you’re grace and mercy showed its self too
Bones, Blood, and Flesh
He came and gave us anew
He set us free
From the binds of thorns
And the rule of Pilate
He calmed the rage
Of our headless chicken state
Opened the cage, set our minds ablaze
Something new
No, I don’t always shine
But He always provides the spark
It’s up to me to learn
How to light it
