Vanishing World
The glowing lights glittered in the sky,
sparkling like a new diamond ring,
completely visible.
The grass swayed beneath their fingertips,
slightly itchy like a scratchy old sweater,
absolutely wonderful.
The sky turned dark,
enveloping them like a black blanket.
The world turned quiet,
all creatures seemed to still.
And they looked on,
watching the sky with captivated eyes,
their bodies fitting together like perfect puzzle pieces.
The world around them seemed to pause,
reality as they knew it began to vanish,
and all that was left was the two of them.
