I Still Carry On

Just found out one of my childhood friends has passed away.

Many years have passed,
seven decades to be exact,
moments, days, years have gone,
Just like that,
but I still carry on.

Some good friends are gone,
but the love they shared was left,
I didn’t know love had life too,
but its something you don’t forget,
as you still carry on.

I’ve had to mourn some losses,
some days I’ve had to cry,
who knows what life will bring,
as time goes by.

Life has not always been easy,
many trials have come my way,
the memories of the past,
seem to flood my soul today,
but I still carry on.

I’m just so very thankful,
to wake up to another day,
to still be healthy and strong,
what more can I say?
As I still carry on.

This is just a simple poem to express my inner feelings.
Although we may not see people for many years to find
out they’ve passed on still hurts.

So sorry for your loss, there are no words really but I do feel that those we have loved, will always be with us and hope that your friend is at peace. I am sure she can feel your love and what a gift that is. Lovely poem Charlotte.

@Barb Clarke: Thank you, you’re so kind.

Carry on, we must! Till it's our time to go. Even each passing day brings unpleasant news. Love your poem, heartfelt and sincere. Just a typical Charlotte poem.

@Vic Evora: Thanks as always for taking time.
