Life knocks us down, without a single clue
It spins us round, then pulls the floor away
Baffled we’re left, not knowing what to do
We chase our dreams, yet somehow go astray
Our plans are tossed like leaves upon the breeze
But success happens where we’re not in play
A thought escapes us while we’re at our ease
But in its place, random treasures appear
Gold coin discovered under the lost keys
We search for love, convinced it’s nowhere here
But we crash into it by the newsstand
As if by fate it found a way to steer
The wisdom we don’t seek comes secondhand
It falls upon us in a burst of light
