The starlit night was lovely
Her spirit soothed by the breeze
Which appeased her heart broken
A thousand jagged pieces
She stared at the shining stars
As she stood by the stone bridge
Coolly bathing in moonlight
Though in her heart furious rage
She watched the river below
As it flows to the ocean
Wavelets reflect the moonbeams
They gleam in fluid motion
From her eyes tears flowed freely
Her soul gripped with emotion
Righteous anger filled her heart
Green ivy full of poison
Thought of jumping came to mind
Ending it all, appealing
If only to dull the pain
But in the end, appalling
She’s not about to give up
For the battle just starting!
She must win herself once more
Dig herself from the abyss
Hold back the self-pity tears
And ne’er face the world like this!
So long! rage and bitterness
To sadness, a goodbye kiss
Happiness the sweet revenge
In her heart, a touch of bliss
From the bridge she walked away
Behind her, all of today!
