Seventy-Five

“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”
– Susan Sontag
“The goal is to die with memories, not dreams.”
– Unknown

Seventy five, a milestone
That I thought I’d never reach
Tis dusk, I face the unknown
In my life’s secluded beach

I think about tomorrow
Wondering if the end’s near
Whether it is time to go
Though I face it without fear

But I’m not alone, praise Him
For you’re here by my side
You’re joy’s only synonym
Are you ready for the ride?

There’s much to learn, much to see
Views to make us wonderstruck
When in our traveling spree
See them all, if we’re in luck

But yesterday’s mostly gone
Tomorrows not plentiful
Soon life’s curtains will be drawn
Little time to do them all

So let’s go, let’s not tarry
Onward to next escapade
Places to see, let’s hurry
Let’s soak in our grand parade

To see the world together
Its vast marvels to treasure
With my beloved partner
Makes every day a pleasure!
