Existence

“I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.”
Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

Steady there it goes
Life unfolds on the big stage
From cradle to grave
No second chances no breaks
Sadly no multiple takes

Our tales unravel
But no sequels will there be
A one-time story
No rehearsals no practice
There are no stage left exits

No bows at the end
No speeches and no applause
When the curtain draws
Our stories we can’t unwind
Everything we leave behind

But this is all we’ve got
Whether we like it or not
Doing our best would make sense
Make good of our existence

In the end of days
If we do everything right
We’ll see heav’nly light
Life would then be worth living
At rainbow’s end, angels sing!
