Evening Dew

"Joy descends gently upon us like the evening dew, and does not patter down like a hailstorm."
~Jean Paul

The fresh evening dew on a blade of grass
The warm sunshine on a cold winter morn
The stunning image in the looking-glass

You’re a miracle the moment you’re born
To all our lives you bring joy and magic
A red rose blooming with nary a thorn

Never knowing you, would have been tragic
My whole multiverse will be desolate
My life left with no reason nor logic

My very good fortune, perhaps my fate
That you and I meet one glorious evening
Years ago ‘twas, and I still celebrate

Each time I recall that second fleeting
Crowded boulevard, a thousand faces
The moment my whole life I’ve been waiting

Our eyes met, my heart off to the races
Beating so hard, nothing else I could hear
I knew then I have found my oasis

Then a smile glittered your face, ear to ear
Bringing bliss and joy to my lovesick heart
Since then I never felt sorrow nor fear

Our romance smoldered from the very start
The embers shall never keep us apart
