Earth-Bound

A Sonnet

Earth-bound; we envied the birds in the sky

And wished we can swim swift like a dolphin

Even if doors be shut, we could walk in;

Or go back in time, perhaps never die!

Children we were once; we wanted to fly

Be superheroes, have powers within

Races, contests, all battles we shall win

Live forever, laugh always, never cry!

Then we grow up, recognize our folly

Mundane all our lives; we soon discover

Yes, some of us sink to melancholy

But we bounce back; life is never over

Heroes we’re not, but if we are Godly

Earth-bound we aren’t; we’ll live forever!
