Cold but refreshing
Silky and soothing
Pushing me onward
Onward ‘till morning
Her spirit is restless,
Fast and fleeting
But when she is calm
She has no greeting
Trees whisper to each other
Whilst in her presence
Chimes begin shimmering,
Twinkling in the distance
The bushes and ferns begin chattering
As she runs
Arguing fiercely
About from whence she has come from
She awakens a dog,
Who, prematurely aroused,
Begins barking at the disturbance
But finds nothing around
A burst of light
Engine revving
Rushing past
A moment of a silence
She brings the dead back to life
And whispers in my ear
But only for a moment
Then silence is restored
But she can’t keep still
And soon she is back
Caressing my neck
And stealing my hat
She makes the winter mountain roar
Like there’s an ocean in the trees
And though others will ignore her
She’ll whisper quietly to me
