Light surrounds the tunnel
Of every future yet
Darkness fossilizes
What I would soon forget.
I look into the future
Into the light I see
An effervescent darkness
Stretches eternity.
A child I would lie and think
Of times still yet to come.
My soul eyes saw the tunnel.
Saw summer in a glory
Of yellow fields and sun;
Viewed winter as the darkness
No light was here to pass.
The tunnel stretched onward
At turns in dark, aglow.
Then Stops,
and fades to galaxy
Time unwound, unbent.
