Japanese haiku I wrote that roughly translates to: The first time doing Is always very painful How's the second time?
My Grandfather’s last dream In a deep sea of white, heavy thun… Until a peaceful respite blinks What will it bring? Will the rain… With their piercing showers, will…
Just for a moment To glimpse from dusty pages A single white flash Tenuous seconds follow Until a roaring reply
A natural fog Too tired to remember Dowsing memories Broken alarm clock weeping Woe be to his faint tick, tock
Red and orange glitter Dancing delicately high Above winding paths Falling to the great grey streams Falling for grace, or duty?
The darkest of nights It is on these nights I turn To these keys, clicking Fervently beyond reason Behind safely shadowed doors
A stone for a head A dauntingly fragile nose Sudden convulsions To lay my head down in peace My vestigial heart begs
Bickering tree frogs Endless croaking back and forth Dream a soothing song One where two branches can meet In this capital forest
Life’s obligations A daunting sea of turmoil With crest after crest I’ll hide in this briny shell Till the tide forgets my name
I pray for the day When my mind is clear Silence, sweet silence Schemes and impulses forgone To live without a shadow
Such an empty sky Countless pensive glances are Over and over Swallowed swift, before their time If only I could keep them
To hide in plain sight Something we all yearn for, but Our differences Do not belong in the mud For mud cannot be polished
Words without meaning An open mouth seems empty Trying to express Something that dances lightly Forefront of a clouded heart
Tiny flashing lights Figures entwine together Closer and closer ‘closer than ever’ they say Beside our computer screens
Anticipation Generic butterflies swarm Twists, knots, fluttering They find no golden nectar Only number two pencils
Once my beating heart Matched steel drum lines to-to-toe Teaching metronomes But now my beat has fallen Into syncopated depths
