I am cursed or maybe haunted
With wildly vivid dreams
At least those that I remember
Which are few and far between
If you only knew the horror
Of the ugly other scene
Conjured by a snoring mind
Unsettled and obscene.
I see the visions crystal clear
A hard wired memory.
Although I struggle to remember
What I have truly seen.
War-torn buildings
Once made of stone
Collapsing at the seams
Granite stairway
Cool to the touch
Covered in mossy green.
Doorless entrance
Fails to muffle
eardrum piercing screams.
What I see,
What happens next,
I dare not ever speak.
The visions
I have been cursed with
Are too much to repeat.
Maybe, perhaps maybe.
If I wish to remain free.
It is best that I cannot recall
What I see when I’m asleep.
I am cursed or maybe haunted
With wildly vivid dreams
At least those that I remember
Which are few and far between
