Plowing in the Nivernais, by Rosa Bonheur

The Tilling

From the inversion of summer and winter’s soil,
from icy hideaways of cryptic spoil,
the new ground is now a convalescent home,
a fallow that becomes a fertile loam,
a fertile loam that promotes the seed
that grows everything the farmers need,
a healthy crop from his conscientious tilling,
a job well done for needs fulfilling.

Lucky we all are farmers are still tilling. Always a happy day to see their produce at the farmers market. Like. 👍

@Nelson D Reyes.... and happy to hear the coins jingling on their pockets.
