The Summoning

“Please, thy powers from the sinews of the skies,
softer than a lightning bolt
but mightier than a rose petal,
come to me with thy strength and sagacity.
Light upon my shoulder and sink deep
into my heart with thy fire.

Push me up to thy throne,
thy monarchial mansions
and sit me down upon the marble floors
where I can breathe in your air and
let it permeate my lungs with fire and ice.

Send thy lightning into my bones and
let me feel it in my spirit and my loins.
Fill me with the fire so I can move like you,
think like you, and run like you.
Send thy hurricanes and earthquakes into me.
Let me feel their fury in my heart and soul.
Let me blend into their rage
so I can dance with them.
Let them fill my spirit with power and song.

Send me back to earth with their strength.
Let me lose their malice and gain their charity.
Let me put it into my mind and dexterity.
Let it control my thoughts and deeds.
Let it tie its ropes around my fingers
and make them fly across the piano keys.
Let it play my solo with its
strength and musicality.
Let it approach the limits of imagination.
Let it fill me with pride and gratitude
and keep me forever in its heart.
For this I will be eternally grateful.”
