The Scream, by Edvard Munch
Robert L. Martin

Ole’ Fuddy-duddy Biddie

Poor ole’ Fuddy-duddie Biddie Blue.
It’s too hot, too cold, too dry for you,
Too wonderful, spectacular, too grand, too right,
Too blue, too green, too red, too white.

Perfection is the worst of the worst of the worst,
When nothing is wrong, so grumble and curse.
Let it all hang out with your bombastic voice.
Let all the specters and bombardiers rejoice.

Beyond perfection is a whole new place,
A new beginning, a new fault to embrace.
Up where the roads are smooth and wide,
Gouge’em with your claws on your naughty ride.
The roads are too tough, you devil you,
Ole’ Fuddy-duddy Biddie Blue.
