Elysium Remembered
To the wind, the Earth, the trees, and the heart.
I heard it on the wind
Her call
Gently persistent
Spoken until tears were forced to fall
‘Don’t catch them’ I herd
‘Give them to me
You have taken so much
It’s ok to give this one thing’
She told me to cry
Commanded I dropped to my knees
‘Don’t try to fight it’ and
‘Accept your disease’
‘Swim this sea of truth until
You’ve spiraled anew
And nothing’s still’
So I cried
For all that mattered
‘Vibrate out
Until your shatter’
Then,
I saw a light upon reflection
Blinding me, binding me on
Still burnt into my eyes
The scars of light glow on
I remember
I will not forget you
You never left
That’s not what you do
I will not search
For you are here
I will remember
I freely give these tears
