I love you
And no
I do not love you like a middle schooler
Where I think about you all the time
Where I want to spend every second of every day with you
Where I get butterflies in my stomach when I see you
 
I love you
Because I don’t have to think about you all the time
Because I know you
Your character does not change no matter how much I think of you
Or how little
 
I love you
Because every second that I don’t spend with you
Is ok
Because you will still be there
In the end
 
I love you
Because hearing your name
Off the lips of another
Does not give me the butterflies of anxiety
Or questions of what you did
Or with who
 
I love you because my brain does not consciously have to love you
Because this love is the feeling of safety
This love is the feeling of peace
