I AM MAN
I was a reckless child,
running from Truth.
Hardheaded through hardships,
a heart split in two.
Broken as a boy,
in negativity I grew.
Until I stopped searching for pieces,
and created life anew.
How can I lead,
if I’m lacking all direction?
Created as a Cure,
yet I’m causing the infection.
Love, our Greatest Teacher,
we must have skipped a lesson.
Instead of building up,
we corrupt our Greatest Blessing.
I am enlightened, thus responsible,
I owe it to my Queens.
I am a living Sacrifice,
My purpose to build their dreams.
I am a true King,
dedicated to my companion.
Their leadership my obligation,
just because,
I AM MAN.

In the scripture we are called a Royal Priesthood (I peter 2:9-10). In a relationship, whether friendship or something more, a man is supposed to lead. Somehow we confuse the concept of leader with the idea of domination. A true leader never has to resort to force or intimidation. He simply behaves in a way that inspires another to follow. Leaders command, not demand.
